Postlets Pro is Now FREE - How To Post Your Listings

Getting exposure to a sellers property is obviously a no-brainer, but simplifying the process, and finding more efficient ways that cost less that get you a higher return on your investment and efforts is just plain smart.

That's why I'm happy to announce that the Postlets Pro program is now free.  That's right, we are opening up this program, which was previously a paid subscription-ONLY program, to everyone for free!

Anyone who knows me will tell you how excited and passionate I am about Real Estate technology, but when I get to share a really cool product that totally "rocks" and has now been made available for FREE, I get more than just excited.

"Postlets is a listing syndication site offering some really cool Real Estate marketing tools."

How To Post Your Listings on Postlets

1.  Create and setup your FREE account on Postlets.com

2.  Using the easy-to-use forms, create your listing

3.  The Custom HTML code allows you to post to classified sites

4.  Share your listing using the social media tools provided

5.  Listings will automatically be syndicated to several search sites

Now that Postlets PRO is FREE, look what's included in every new Postlet listing:

Multi-page format. We've taken the standard template and blown it out into a multi-page website. Think of it as a standard postlet after an extreme makeover.  You'll love it!  See Sample
Huge photos. How does 700x525 pixels strike you? For the non-techies, that's twice the width and twice the height of those in the former Postlets postlet layout. This is Huge. See Sample
3x more photos. A picture is worth, well, you know. So "18" pictures will be a mouth-full. It's no secret that photos help sell, and Postlets gives you plenty to make your listings stand out above the rest.
Slideshow viewer. What would be the point of having all those photos if you can't show them off. Postlets uses a best-in-class Flash slideshow viewer to put your property in the best light. Thumbnail previews, artistic transitions, simply beautiful. You know me and these gadgets....  lol~
20 professional and stylish themes. Take a peek.
Full-size embedded map. Large format Google Maps are seamlessly integrated into PRO listings.
Neighborhood information. GreatSchools and Walk Score provide detailed maps and information about local schools and nearby stores, restaurants, parks, etc.
Video integration. Embed a video that you upload to YouTube directly into your listing.
Your branding on every page. Your personal photo and logo show up on every page. Big Smiles!
MLS-compliant version. Use the optional non-branded version as the virtual tour with your MLS.
Tracking via Google Analytics. Measure and track your visitor traffic to your listings by linking a Google Analytics account, this will also help you gain a better understanding of your audience.

Folks, this is HUGE!!  Many of you have paid for this service in the past and know it works.

Knowing that generating exposure to your sellers available property is the key to getting it sold, I'm confident that the Postlets syndication and marketing tools will be very beneficial to both you and your sellers.  NO MORE CHARGE! NO MORE COST! NO MORE EXCUSES!

Zillow recently acquired Postlets and will now be also providing some educational training and FREE support webinars at Zillow Academy.  See the training calendar on August 4th for more information and details, or you can just RSVP here if you'd like.  We'll cover a ton of great tips and how-to's in a single one hour session, and it's free too! Come check it out.

We were long-time users of Postlets until they started limiting you to only 3 listings on the free membership, then we left for Realbird, which is also awesome. I do like the looks of the Postlet better though, so we'll definitely be taking another look at it! You don't often see a pay service converted to a free one, it's more often the other way around. Kudos to Zillow for this!

This is great for folks who had not been serious Postlet users, but as a regular user who had Postlet PRO credits,  now my credits go to this:

As of July 12th, 2011, Postlets PRO offering became available for free to all users. If you have unused PRO credits they can be used towards one of Zillow's paid offerings that provide featured listings, advertising placements plus many other great features on Zillow.

I guess I will end up using them eventually, but it leaves kind of a bad taste...

Brad, it appears to be an issue with the browser I'm using (RockMelt), as I just created a Postlet on Firefox and had no problems. I have also contacted Postlets directly and received a reply from Ray, and they are looking into it.

BTW, as good as Postlets is, I'm building a Wish List for features that I wish it had, like a bulk photo uploader. Thanks for your help, too!

Thanks, Brad. I just used the free version the other day and glad to see this.

And, I have a question: Why? What economic benefit does Postlets/Zillow get for doing this? Clearly, more listings on Zillow but what else?

I was just thinking about signing up for the Pro version for a couple of my listings.....now I don't have to decide.  Nothing beats free!  Thanks!

Posted by Dawn Brenengen - Trailwood Realty 11 months ago

I use the basic Postlets all the time.  I'm really excited to hear that the Pro version is free!

John - as I see it, the economic value actually goes to you???  <BIG SMILE>

Would you settle for; we just want to provide additional "added-value" tools and services to help our real estate professionals and friends?  :-)

Thanks for the new "free" tool!  I too have jumped on the Active Rain band wagon, but will check this out again.  I don't really care for the search map on AR, so this might be a good alternativie.

Posted by Tonda & Steve Hoagland Greenwood Indiana Real Estate (Keller Williams Realty) 11 months ago

I've been using the free version, now free is upgraded can't beat that.  Is this introductory or is it going to stay free?

Posted by Jennifer Manchester, GRI, ePRO, ASP Charlotte Short Sale Agent, Home Staging (Suburban Properties of Charlotte, LLC ) 11 months ago

Tonda and Steve - just for the record, I don't want to confuse folks, Postlets is not an ActiveRain feature or product, and I'm not familiar with the AR search map you mentioned, but these Postlets are a great tool for creating your listing pages, sharing, syndicating, and helping get more exposure and closings for your listings/sellers.  Very cool product tool!

Jennifer - this is not introductory, we just converted the Postlets PRO version into a No-Cost version for users. :)

Posted by Brad Andersohn (Zillow - Outreach Manager) 11 months ago

Scrambling to get caught up, I almost missed this. The old free version was pretty handy, so I'll need to carve out some time to get up to speed on the new one. Looks pretty cool! (bookmarked)

Posted by Fred Hookham (Keller Williams) 11 months ago

I am going to log in, set up and give this a shot with one of my listings.  Nothing like free tools to get my listings out.

I've been spending quite a bit of time on the new postlets site and I'm really enjoying sharing some of the cool features I'm discovering.  Hoping a lot of you will join us for the upcoming webinar they're letting me teach the first week in August. It will be a blast, I promise.  I'm loving this postlets tool and I'm not even an active agent in real estate.  :-)

Hi Brad,

We love Postlets. Have been using it for a while.

Free is even better. We had been paying $7.00 per, and it was a bargain at that.

Thanks for sharing

Brad - thanks for the good news. I've used postlets for years, but never thought it was worth paying the extra for the pro version. Maybe they are trying to hook us by showing the benefits of the pro version.

Thanks for all of the great comments. When Zillow first bought postlets a few months ago, our vision was to use it as a platform to provide more tools to agents. It took us a couple of months to make the necessary changes to turn it into a free service, but we're just getting started. Look for more innovations from Zillow in the future which continue to help real estate professionals make the most of the internet.
