Club Chaos Agents - All Things Hollish, Wacked, and Jacked

Finding calm amidst the turmoil.

Finding calm amidst the turmoilIt seems that all of the political and economic news these days is less than optimistic. Many prognosticators are even going so far as to predict a cataclysmic collapse of the global monetary system.

It can become overwhelming at times. Every day I hear more and more people ask: “Why doesn’t anyone do something about it?”

The simple fact is that the “anyone” starts with us. While we can’t change the world we can change our attitude and outlook for the future.

That doesn’t mean that we have to look at current events through rose-colored glasses. But we need to reorganize the facets of our destinies that are within our own control.

If we focus on what we can do ourselves and not on what someone else is or is not doing we can find some island of calm amidst the turmoil.

And take charge of our own futures.

Grass roots, that's what it takes.  I have started my own grassroots recycling campaign.  yes, there is a system in place for the city, but I'm working on the people who don't take advantage of it.  It cannot always start at the top.

Love the colors in your photo.  The lake is so blue and inviting.

I feel the calm in that gorgeous photo and setting it was taken!  It begins with each of us and filters out .. I agree!

I'm with Cindy above and concur that grassroots movements do make a difference.  Look at the women who stepped up to insure that women could vote.  However, making do with today relieves one of the stress of worrying about tomorrow.

So true my friend,

We need to control what we can and keep on keeping on.

Richard ~  Reminds me of the saying "we can't change the wind, but we can adjust our sails".

We all have opinions and that is how we get to solutions taht will work.  It is jsut the idea of one or two.  We need to be involved

Richard you are right, when we sit around and think about all the things that could happen instead of taking matters into our own hands and continuing on with a good attitude we might all just sit around and cry in our soup.  A positive attitude in business and towards others goes a long way.  BTW... love the picture.

Absolutely! Glenn Roberts wrote a comment on a post the other day that said "Real estate is local and attitude is central." I thought it was such a profound statement I actually wrote it down. Attitude is one thing we each have complete control make it good!

And then maybe we'll find the peace that is evoked by your photograph.
