How many people love helping others? How many like to be in front of their clients, especially when you can offer them a service that could possibly be like a one stop shop kind of place. Something like Progressive insurance, to where you can buy and compare all at once.
Well, thanks to listening to Ken Cook's BlogTalk radio show, RE Tech Radio, he had an excellent guest on his show today. Scott Oakley from Connect My Buyer.
How does it work? This service allows you to help your buyer connect their utilities and services, such as gas, electric, television, phone, and other home services. Read more from the site : How it works
This site not only gives discounts to the new homeowner, but it could allow you to make some extra money on the side by putting these buyers in touch with Connect My Buyer.
You might ask yourself, what's the catch???
There really is no catch. The site and service that it provides is free to both you and to the consumer. Because Connect My Buyer deals with 20,000 + clients daily, it can offer such discounts from these services to the consumer. And they can even pay you for passing these clients onto the company. It's very simple, because they set up an 800# that you pass along to your buyer which keeps track of who you pass along. What's also very unique is that Connect My Buyer always you to create a flyer that you can pass along to your buyer, which introduces them to the site and to it's services.
Here is an example of the flyer. (sorry if it's a little blurry)

As you can see within the flyer, that it gives you difference services, their contact information and best of all, some prices to compare. And what's nice about this set up is that you can add your own service providers such as... lawn care service, home repair person, home improvement person, day care, pest control, etc, etc.

Overall... I think this is very cool and can be very helpful, especially for those buyers that are from out of town. Now, get working on your flyers.
UPDATE : everyone, please read this comment. There is some good information by a realtor that gives good insight about this company and what they offer... and it makes sense... Please read : Comment # 35 - Good insightful info -

what a great idea!
Thanks
Great type of info to pass along. Now to put the flyer together.
I've been a fan of both Ken and Scott for quite a while. Love AllConnect!
Sweeeet! Thanks for listening and even more thank for posting the story! Definitely a great tool that costs the agent nothing but makes them look like they really have it together. Even if they don't - lol.
Hi Nancy :)
Hey everyone... my pleasure... this is such a great idea and yet so simple to do...
KEN... my pleasure and thanks for another excellent radio show... and yes, it costs nothing...
Hey - this is great!! THANKS for the post Jeff and thanks to Ken for the radio broadcast. I suggested this for a feature, we can all use this kind of help!
Thanks, Jeff. Have to definitely look into this. I just put together similar info for my out-of-towners and was looking for a way to change it up a bit. This looks like just the tool!
DAWN... . thanks and my pleasure. Ken certainly finds some good information from time to time. And thanks for suggesting this...
BARBARA... . I think this is definitely great for those from out of town. Glad that this might help some. thanks
Thanks, Jeff. It was great to get THIS email. You are some terrific guy. And, really, this will be so helpful with my bank-owneds. One number, done. Cool.
Hi Jeff! Don't you just love Ken?! I wish I had been able to listen but, I do so appreciate you posting this! I have been using White Fence but, it pales in comparison. Thanks again!
That is very interesting. I'll check it out.
I forgot to mention, I found this post on LinkedIn! Covering ALL of your bases, aren't you, Jeff!!
Will check it out, thanks for the info & the link.
Very nice, Jeff. I especially like the "customizable" part.
Thanks for pointing this out.
That was some great mind that came up with the idea. Thanks Ken!
Jeff, we've had AllConnect here for a while. With varying degrees of success. Have had a couple complaints and a couple "good experiences" I'll be interested to see what others experience. The concept/service would be a big help!
HEY EVERYONE... thanks for the comments and for the polite compliments... I enjoyed this one and sharing it..
LEE & PAMELA... thanks for your honest feedback on this. Could you possibly give me your good and not-so-good experiences... looking for all sides.. What were some of the complaints? thanks
Jeff I got the e-mail that you sent to me on LinkedIn. I couldn't respond because I was in class. Thank you very, very much for sharing this. Thanks also to Ken. I will definitely check this out. Great post.
Thank You Jeff, that was terrific. I signed up, uploaded my photo, customized the greeting and sent the first All Connect flyer out today. That was wonderful and so easy to do. Thanks you again!
Jeff, that is very cool, I finally made a list that I can email out of town buyers but this is more professional. I will be anxious to use this and wonder how it will work out. My buyers usually have to wait until the seller calls the services first. Our companies here will not take new information until the current owner calls ahead and sometime they drag their feet :(
Very cool, Jeff, thank you. I set one up and emailed it to myself to do a spam check before I use it for my new home owners.
Jeff, Aren't you so thoughtful to share this with everyone? I really appreciate it! Sounds like a no brainer :) I'm off to check it out!
I loved getting your LinkedIN email too...it's the first time I'm seen a blog via Linkedin. You are one cool dude, lol. Thanks Jeff!
LANRE.... WILLIAM... MARILYN... . VIRGINIA.... ELIZABETH aka COOP...
My pleasure... as I meantioned, I enjoyed putting this one out there and all thanks to Ken Cook and his radio show.. and thank you all for the kind words and compliments... and yes, being creative with LinkedIN... ;o)
I'm curious to hear Pamela's comments too--probably similar to White Fence.com--issues with addresses not being in the system--then told to phone in to 'apply' for utilities. For the most part, buyers have been happy campers but, the one that you mentioned seems to offer more + give discounted services.
Thank you so much! What a great idea!
Thanks so much! What a great tool for buyers!
What a neat idea JB ! I manually give most of this info to my new buyers as a courtesy myself, but this is presented much nicer than my sheet ! Will definitely check it out and see if it gives the accurate info for my area. And discounts = always welcome !!!
Jeff -- I had to miss the talk show.. thanks for alerting us to this wonderful tool! I can't wait to start using this! It will really come in handy. Ok -- I tested this on two properties and 2 different towns and the information in each instance was partially incorrect... so I think one has to check what they come up with.. at least in NH.
Thanks for sharing this with us. It is one more step to help us look professional to our clients. And thanks for the heads up on the radio show.
wow what a neat organized idea. It really is a gift to the new homeowner as it cuts out all the leg work for them
I am all over this one thank you for the info. It is so cool i even reblogged it
Wow what a great service to offer. Thank you for the heads up on this, Jeff!
Jeff, this is a great idea! I like the concept and the branding opportunity! I am going to check it out!
Thanks so very much, Jeff! And thanks for calling the other night! It looks like a great thing ...
Hey ALL... I did get an e-mail from an agent that made some sense.. here is that e-mail...
All connect can be very useful. But FYI - it is a middle man sales company - they only give out the utility companies that have signed up with them. Their sales reps get a % of the monthly bill of anyone who signs up through them.
They may or may not be giving the best or cheapest services.
In my area, they only have one crummy internet company, we have 2 very good ones that they don't mention.
If I used this cool flyer, I would add the other companies in the first greeting.
DEBE... I hope they come back and let us know...
TO EVERYONE else... again, thanks for stopping by and for the polite compliments. ... it was my pleasure.... even if there isn't much of a savings, I still think it's nice because it gives so many numbers.
PS.. and as mentioned, you can add other service providers below... thanks
Always looking for better ways to serve my clients.
sounds like a cool concept if it were more robust, neutral, and comprehensive.
I guess I'd better look into this too.... thanks for the head's up.
Definitely will look into AllConnect - thanks for letting us know. It looks like a great resource for my out of town clients moving here.
Very cool! I missed the last RE Tech Radio, so I'm excited that you let us know!
Thanks...
Jeff, this is cool. I just created new email forms with two utility areas for buyers who need to have their utility information. You are a font of information :)
Thanks for the info...Haven't heard of them before!
This sounds very interesting. I will check this out!
I intend to check this out and utilize it for my business
I first ran across this service when at Agent ReBOOT San Francisco, and have now had an opportunity to use them. Great stuff!
seem like a great service. I will definitely do some research on it. Thanks
Great info. I'll check it out.r
Jeff, sounds good I will check it out, thanks.
Jeff - This seems like an interesting website tool. I quickly scanned the homepage and it seems that it is geared towards Americans only.
I love this, Jeff! very valuable! Thanks!
TO EVERYONE ABOVE - (I normally comment to each person individually)
I just wanted to thank everyone for stopping by and for the comments. I think that this company can be an added value to your buyers, but that it's not perfect. Read comments # 16 and #35.
Again, thanks for the comments and for the compliments. I love sharing this kind of information. thanks
Nice info. I am definitely going to look at this....and no response needed!
Great idea to help our buyers out. I will have Amy get it all set up next week. In the mean time have a great Football weekend.
Thanks so much for your help on the HUD last night, it was very helpful to have an experienced lenders eyes take a look at it and set my Buyer Agent at ease.
Jeff:
I have just looked at this and it is definitely something I will use. Anything to help buyers get set up in their new home is going to endear you to them. This is a great tip.
I will use this tool from now on, another great way to market yourself. Love it!
Again,, thanks everyone... and Gary, thanks.. lol
MISSY.... my pleasure in regards to the HUD... I felt like I was in my first year, going over the HUD, because you caught me in a daze... that my lack of sleep was catching up with me. But any excuse to talk to you, especially since you are soooo busy. In any case, my pleasure and thanks for the polite compliment.
Thanks for sharing -- in some areas it likely is a great service , but tried it for the area we are in and it is painfully lacking --- does not recognize the cable TV or Internet company , does not recognize the gas company , nor the water company and not the sewer company ------ all it will show are the DSL and phone services they want to promote and there is no way to include the other companies in the add on feature --- perhaps it is more oriented to the metropolitan areas --- but great idea.
I will try it out and see how it works, thanks for sharing. It looks to be a great concept...
Jeff, this seems like a great tool for the buyers. I like the idea of being able to customize it. Thanks for the info.
This sounds like a nice idea for clients. It sounds like there are possible issues with it, but definitely worth looking into.
What a nice layout. We have actually been participating in this type of a program with our local companies for years. It makes for nice $$$ over the span of a year each year.
Nice tool, Jeff. (I have used it in past and suggest it to my buyers all the time!)
Just re-blogged this, Jeff.
My pleasure and Thanks everyone.. and Margaret, thanks for reblogging this.
Great resource. I've been sending clients to White Fence. This looks much more comprehensive.
