Dutchess County Fair in Rhinebeck only 25 days away.

It is that time of year again when the Fair comes to town.  The Dutchess County Fair is one of the most popular Fair in New York State and why not, once you visit this region you will keep coming back.

  • This year the Fair will be held from August 25-30 so you need to start making your plans if you are planning to attend.

  • You can purchase discounted admission tickets  at local supermarkets as long as the purchase is in advance.

When you visit Rhinebeck, I am sure you will also want to visit the many fine restaurants and shops.

Hudson Valley Green Fair at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck NY - April 25th & 26th

Get ready for the annual Hudson Valley Green Fair this weekend.  With the present economic conditions many are re-thinking the way they do things.  One exiciting thing that has emerged from this recession is that more people are now considering the backyard garden as a viable way to feed the family and thus maintain a healthy life style.  At the green fair there will be many educational discussions.

Great information can be gained from attending such a fair but it will only be valuable if  such tips are implemented.

Last year's Green Fair  was a big success and I expect this year's will be too and we are expecting great weather conditions.

My Close Encounter With The Sloop Clearwater From The Rhinecliff Hotel

This morning was very busy, the phone was ringing quiet a bit,  and I was making sure things were in place for my new listings.  I was also keeping in mind I was having lunch with my garden club at 12 Noon.  The time flew by and before I knew it, it was 11:45 AM.  I thought about not going since I would not make it on time.   But then again even Realtors need to have some fun, so off I went.   I was 20 minutes late yet these ladies always make me feel welcomed, you see most of the ladies are retired and they have come to the realization that as a Realtor I might have to dash off to an appointment.

Going to The Rhinecliff hotel is always a treat, good food and superb service.  The door to the balcony of the hotel was open so we could enjoy the spring air.  I heard the train coming and excused myself, I have wanted for sometime to get a shot of the train at the Rhinecliff Station which is an Amtrak stop.  How delighted I was to finally achieve that goal.

We really enjoyed our lunch and had fun playing a flower game.  Several ladies won prizes I did not,  although I love gardening I found out I need to also learn the name of the plant, so next time I can win the game.

I assumed getting shots of the train would be the highlight of the day until I  stepped out on to the balcony and saw a tall ship.  We all thought it might be the Sloop Clearwater but could not verify that it was.  Anyway when I got home I checked their calender and sure enough it was the Sloop Clearwater.

Since this year is New York Quadracentenial I know I will be seeing lots of activity on the Hudson River.  So if you are thinking of a weekend up in the Rhinebeck area, The Rhinecliff Hotel provides lodging with an awesome view, you just never know what you might see.

CNN Visit Terrapin Red Bistro In Rhinebeck Today

This is short notice but CNN will be in Rhinebeck today at the Terrapin, one of Rhinebeck's finest restaurant.

CNN will be interviewing Josh Kroner the chef and owner of Terrapin restaurant about his Hudson Valley's premier burgers and pairing with local craft brews.

The public is invited to attend the filming however seating will be based on a first come first serve basis.  So stop by and try a terrific burger.
