You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. I bet real estate agents say that a lot. Especially listing agents. Especially a Sacramento short sale agent. You notice how I automatically assigned a gender to that horse and it wasn't female? All of my women readers are laughing right now. The men are saying, What the?
I stopped by to see a client yesterday. I was driving back from taking a new listing in the Pocket. The sun was out. The top of my car, down. Riverside Boulevard had little traffic. I drove by Seamas and thought, you know, I should stop to see George. I keep thinking about it when I'm in the Pocket, but I never stop. I made a fast U-turn in the street -- hey, I'm in real estate, I can do that -- and zipped over to George's house to visit.
I'm gonna do that more often. Drop by to visit people. It was wonderful seeing George. He always make me laugh, and he's a guy with great insight and funny stories. We can't let life get in the way that we don't stop to see our friends. Many of my clients become my friends. I played with his dog and we talked for more than an hour. You know what? The world didn't come tumbling down around me. I can afford to take a little time out of my workday now and then. I can't afford not to.
Another affordable thing is this absolutely stunning home in Gold River. It's incredible. Some homes, when you walk inside, gently fold arms around you. This is one of those. It's gracious, warm, inviting, and I can sense the sorrow the present owner will feel upon departure. The seller will close the door. But a buyer will open it into a world of technicolor.
A whole new life awaits you in Gold River. The difference in this 1992 Powell-built home is the generous space. You don't feel crowded. The hallway is enormous, you could spin around with your arms outstretched and, even if you stumbled, you would not touch the wall. It also brings the outdoors inside. I'm not saying the roof leaks. I'm saying you feel like you're outdoors when you are inside the home because there is such lush beauty on the other side of the window glass. And because there is a lot of glass, and it's very large. Some of it floor-to-ceiling.
This home is part of a homeowner's association, which owns the road. It feels like it when you drive up. Well maintained. Dues are $210/mo. It has 3 bedrooms, one without a closet, and 2 very big baths. There is a separate family room off the other side of the kitchen. The formal living room serves as the central focal point, with all the bedrooms and baths in another wing -- the master on one end. You can close the door to the kitchen and not hear a sound from the family room.
There is a private patio off the kitchen, a tumekyama in the garden. The back yard has raised beds along the fence, beautiful landscaping and an uncovered patio as well. A bonus is the 3-car garage.
